Because all Arabs are out for our heads, but only seven (or was it one?) Americans have ever EVER been bad.

Makes sense to me.

In other news, V. spotted $2.01/gallon gas. We spent $59 filling up our cars this week, and we're off to North Carolina this weekend. All the chirping the right has done about a few new jobs is going to fly out the window when companies start laying people off to pay for their shipping costs.

err.... the "enemies of freedom"? !?! they 're fighthing for THEIR freedom for crying out loud! And unfortunately nobody is "innocent" in time of war...

That's for sure. There's more blood on everyone's hands than anyone is willing to admit. I think at some point (preferably sooner than later), we're going to have to stand up and take the blame for all of this. If we don't we're going to fall very far and very hard. We're not spreading freedom like this. All we're doing is making 'freedom' into a word that everyone associates with war.

We condemn the Europeans for not being using military force quick enough. They don't because they've had their fill of war. It's been over 135 years since we saw war here. That's a lesson that should never ever be forgotten. It's easy to wage war on someone else's lawn.

You'd think that September 11th would have been a wake-up call.

well said! Greece has been in war, one way or another for the 3000 years. And this is precisely why I almost never discuss the war. (till now)

Exactly. War doesn't come to us, so we don't know the scope of it. There are enough people still alive in Europe who can tell the younger generations what it was like to have troops marching through their towns, bullets flying, bombs dropping, and all the other horrors of a war literally in your backyard. We don't have that. Even if our veterans denounce war, they can't point to a stretch of buildings and say 'I remember when thirteen people were put up against that wall and shot for being insurgents'. We have no perspective and too much reach.
