Sal's Army given the boot

"And when they come to ethnically cleanse me, will you speak out? Will you defend me?"

Pop Will Eat Itself - Ich Bin Ein Auslander
From conservativepetitions.com:
Using its no-solicitation policy as a lame excuse, [Target] has banned the Salvation Army's red kettles and cheery bell-ringers that raised more than $9 million outside Target last year. Did the corporation cave in to homosexual activists or atheists who want to take Christ out of Christmas? Other retailers, who respect values-minded Americans, have no problem honoring the beloved charity.
I love how "values-minded" is now used a clever euphemism for "fag-hating". Just come right out and say it, people.

"Using its no-solicitation policy to cover its own ass against this expected backlash, Target has banned the Salvation Army's red-kettles and guilt-mongers that raised more than $9 million for charity that is riddled with discriminatory policies. Did the corporation cave in to the militant liberal fag agenda or satanic atheists who want to take Christ out of Christmas and have sex with your children? Other retailers like Provident Bookstores who respect fag-hating Americans, have no problem honoring institutionalized discrimination and hatred."

See? There's no need for spin.

the worst spin I can see there is the origin of the petition

I'm sick of people calling themselves "conservatives" when they are really fascists or reactionaries

Exactly!

I mean, you don't see centrists calling themselves liberals.

How do you like them apples?
I got bored on the LRT yesterday and decided to turn on my lil pocket radio. Heard Hannity talking to this Williams guy (and his lawyer from the Alliance Defenese Fund), a teacher who was prevented from sharing the Declararion of Independance with his 5th grade class. Reason? Supposedly, the 'endowed by the creator' part got him into trouble. Also removed from his curricula: George Washington's Prayer Journal (but I didn't hear the word 'prayer' when it was mentioned on the air-I had discovered the full title when reading up on this. I never knew Washington had a prayer journal.). Willimas is an Orthodox Christian. (I thought removing the D of I was kinda silly, but how do we know the full context of delivery of the information in this case?)

Why is a national organization interested in this tiny school case?

Plenty o blogs out there, but before you google, read more.

Any thoughts?
